What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information MUNAYA ("we", "us") collects when you visit this website or buy from us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. MUNAYA is operated by Munaya LLC, 124 ADA Dr., Staten Island, New York 10314.
Information you give us
- When you order: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number and the items you bought. Your card details are entered on a secure page hosted by Stripe, our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number.
- When you subscribe: your email address.
- When you contact us: whatever you include in your message, such as your name, email and order number.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on the storefront. Your shopping bag and saved pieces are stored in your own browser's local storage, not on our servers, so you can pick up where you left off.
How we use your information
- To process, ship and deliver your orders, and to send order and shipping confirmations.
- To answer your questions and handle returns or problems.
- To send our newsletter, only if you asked for it. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
- To keep the website secure, prevent fraud, and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run the store, and only what they need:
- Stripe to process payments securely.
- Supabase and Vercel, which host our database, photos and website.
- Shipping carriers such as USPS or UPS, to deliver your order.
- Our email service, to send order emails and, if you subscribed, our newsletter.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or others.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting and warranty purposes, usually seven years. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages are kept as long as needed to help you.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from marketing at any time. Email munaya.modesty@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. Where state law gives you additional rights (for example, the California Consumer Privacy Act for California residents), we honor those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so "Do Not Sell or Share" requests are already respected.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Every page is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), payment data is handled by Stripe, and access to order information is limited to the people who run the store. We maintain reasonable safeguards as the New York SHIELD Act requires. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach of private information occurs we will notify affected customers as required by New York General Business Law section 899-aa and other applicable law.
Cookies
The storefront does not set tracking cookies. A session cookie is used only in the private administration area for signed-in staff.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
